The global Web3 private conference 'EastPoint:Seoul 2025' (hereafter, EastPoint), poised to set a new milestone in the Korean digital asset industry, unveiled its first lineup of key speakers and participating companies on the 10th.

The event will be held on September 22 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and is co-hosted by global blockchain venture capital firm Hashed, blockchain media outlet Bloomingbit under the Hankyung Media Group, and The Korea Economic Daily. Only a select group of invitees—from policymakers to leaders of global institutions and Web3—will attend. They will engage in in-depth discussions on core agendas driving digital financial transformation, including KRW stablecoins, Security Token Offerings (STOs), and the convergence of traditional finance and blockchain.

Following the introduction of the 'Digital Asset Basic Law', interest in digital assets among domestic financial circles is rapidly rising. Where blockchain was once debated mainly as a technology, the widening interface with the institutional finance sector means major financial institutions are now actively joining in these discussions. Within this context, EastPoint brings together key financial institutions and leading IT and gaming companies from Korea and abroad for a dedicated forum to discuss the central agendas of the Web3 industry.

The event will feature lawmakers Byung-Deok Min (Democratic Party of Korea), Jae-seop Kim (People Power Party), and Jun-seok Lee (Reform Party), representing both ruling and opposition parties, discussing policy directions on stablecoins and other major issues. Through the roundtable sessions, they will network with global institutions and top Web3 companies. The main panel session will see these three lawmakers jointly participate in a bipartisan dialogue focusing on the regulatory environment and future challenges for Korea's digital asset sector.

Banks such as Kookmin Bank, Shinhan Bank, Hana Bank, and Woori Bank—the four major banks—will be joined by leading securities firms including NH Investment & Securities, Shinhan Investment Corp., Hana Securities, Meritz Securities, DB Financial Investment, as well as diverse financial companies like Hanwha Asset Management, KB Kookmin Card, NH Venture Investment, Shinhan Venture Investment, Kakao Ventures, Lotte Ventures, and Kiwoom Investment.

In addition, Binance and other global major crypto exchanges, as well as all five major domestic crypto exchanges—Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and GOPAX—will be participating. Singapore's sovereign wealth fund Temasek and Japan's leading financial institution SMBC Nikko Securities are among the major global institutions included in the list. IT and gaming powerhouses such as LINE NEXT, LG CNS, Google Cloud, and NCSoft will also be in attendance.

Key speakers include: Ashok Venkateswaran, Head of Digital Assets & Blockchain for Asia-Pacific at Mastercard; Alan Du, Partner at PayPal Ventures; Yat Siu, Co-founder of Animoca Brands; Bryan Pellegrino, CEO of LayerZero; Arthur Hayes, Co-founder of Maelstrom; Guy Young, Co-founder of Ethena Labs; Sidney Powell, CEO of Maple Finance; Anthony Apollo, Executive Director of the Stable Token Commission at the State of Wyoming; and Rebecca Sin, Head of APAC Funds Research at Bloomberg Intelligence.

Besides the public sessions, the event's standout feature is the closed 'roundtable' gatherings, which will involve government regulators, financial institutions, large corporations, and Web3 enterprises. Each roundtable, comprising five to six members, is designed for substantial discussions on regulatory directions and business cooperation models beyond formal presentations. By principle, every participant at EastPoint is required to join at least one roundtable session; this high level of engagement and immersion is expected to set the event apart from typical conferences.

Sponsors include leading Web3 companies such as Sui Foundation, LayerZero, Aptos, Avalanche, Anchorage Digital, and BitMEX Research. Global media outlets such as TechCrunch and CoinDesk are among the participating media partners, with Bitman serving as a community partner.

Seojoon Kim, CEO of Hashed, said, "EastPoint is designed as a venue where industry, policy, and finance come together to seek solutions in an era where they can no longer act separately. To ensure blockchain and digital assets grow into a genuine industry within the regulated financial and policy framework—not just a technology discussion—sharing perspectives and solving challenges together is essential." He added, "I hope this event marks a meaningful first step for Korea to leap forward as a hub in the global digital finance industry."

Sanha Kim, CEO of Bloomingbit, stated, "We sought to go beyond a presentation-centric conference and create an 'action arena' where industry and policy are truly connected. I believe the event will be a turning point allowing Korea to emerge as a global center of digital assets."

EastPoint will feature in-depth discussion on crucial topics reflecting the main interests of domestic financial institutions, such as: ▲Changes and challenges in the regulatory environment for Korea's digital asset sector ▲Strategies for applying KRW-backed stablecoins to the financial ecosystem ▲Programmable payment systems: integrating stablecoins into everyday payments ▲Development of digital asset market infrastructure, including exchanges, lending, and payment systems.
