It has been revealed that companies adopting a Bitcoin (BTC) treasury strategy purchased Bitcoins worth $17.6 billion (approximately ₩24 trillion) in the second quarter alone.
Cointelegraph, citing data from crypto investment firm Bitwise Asset Management on the 10th (local time), reported that "companies purchased an additional 159,107 Bitcoins in the second quarter." This amounts to more than $17.6 billion at current prices, an approximate 23% increase compared to the first quarter.
The total Bitcoin holdings of companies reached 847,000 as of the second quarter. This is about 4% of the total Bitcoin supply of 21 million.
The number of listed companies holding Bitcoin also increased significantly. As of the second quarter, the total number of companies that have adopted a Bitcoin treasury strategy rose to 125, a 58% increase (46 more companies) over the previous quarter.
