It has been revealed that the State Affairs Planning Committee, serving as the transition team for the Lee Jae-myung administration, is reviewing various agendas related to stablecoins.

According to industry sources on the 14th (local time), Cho Seung-rae, spokesperson for the State Affairs Planning Committee, stated in a briefing, "The incorporation of stablecoins into institutional frameworks is an undeniable reality," and added, "Various agendas centered around stablecoins are being discussed, particularly by the Economic Division 1."

He further explained, "It seems that legislation related to stablecoins will proceed in the United States this week. We are discussing how to prepare and respond to this."

Additionally, the spokesperson said that some progress has been made regarding stablecoin discussions. The spokesperson noted, "There have been issues such as who will issue stablecoins, who will be responsible for licenses, and how relations with other countries will be managed," adding, "Since these are political decisions, various scenarios have been reviewed, and there has been some progress."

Meanwhile, Economic Division 1 of the committee, which handles financial policies, previously set up a stablecoin subcommittee.
