It has been revealed that a subsidiary of asset management firm Fidelity has become the largest shareholder of Metaplanet, which is regarded as a strategic player in Japan.

On the 15th (local time), Simon Gerovich, the CEO of Metaplanet, announced on X (formerly Twitter), "National Financial Services (NFS), a subsidiary of Fidelity Investments, has become the largest shareholder of Metaplanet," adding, "NFS holds 84.4 million shares of Metaplanet, equivalent to a 12.9% stake (approximately $820 million)."

He continued, "NFS serves as the trustee for individual and institutional investors who purchase shares through Fidelity," and noted that "the shareholder structure is gradually becoming more diverse."

Meanwhile, Metaplanet currently holds 16,352 BTC.
