Global sports blockchain project Chiliz (CHILIZ) announced on the 18th that it has successfully concluded the hackathon 'Hacking PARIS,' held at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)'s home stadium, Parc des Princes.

The event ran for three days (local time) from July 11th to 13th, with a total of 236 developers from 16 countries participating.

The hackathon featured six categories: ▲Fan Token Utility, ▲DeFi, ▲Socios Wallet Integration, ▲AI-Based Sports Tools, ▲Fan-Created Content, and ▲Fan Popularity Award.

A variety of projects drew attention. Participants demonstrated prototypes or MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) based on the Chiliz Chain, proposing new fan experience models for the sports industry. Award-winning projects included 'FanScan,' which converts fans' actual spending activities into on-chain reward assets, 'Socrates,' an immersive football quiz game using fan tokens, 'Fan Passport,' which records fans' stadium visits and prediction activities, as well as SportsFi, a fan community-based platform, and Chiliz TV. These projects will soon be directly integrated into the Chiliz Chain-based ecosystem and undergo live testing.

During the event, there were also mentoring sessions led by Chiliz's technical team and a panel talk exploring the future of Web3. Gregory van der Wiel, a former PSG player now active as a crypto investor, remarked, "If clubs can directly own fan data, a truly fan-centric ecosystem can be realized."

Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz, stated, "Hacking PARIS was a stage that showcased the potential to change the structure of the real-world sports industry beyond technological development," and added, "Web3 is no longer just a concept, but a practical method for connecting with sports fans in real life."
