It has been observed that SpaceX, the space company run by Elon Musk, moved its held Bitcoin to an external wallet for the first time in about three years.
According to blockchain data analysis firm Arkham Intelligence on the 21st (local time), a wallet presumed to belong to SpaceX sent 1,308 Bitcoins (worth about $152.91 million) to an external address in a single transaction that day.
This large-scale transfer is the first such case confirmed since 2021. At that time, SpaceX also moved 3,505 Bitcoins (worth about $410 million) it was holding to the US virtual asset exchange Coinbase.
It is estimated that Tesla and SpaceX, the two companies owned by Elon Musk, are currently seeing significant unrealized gains through their Bitcoin holdings. The two companies now hold a combined total of 19,794 Bitcoins. Based on the average purchase price of $32,000, the unrealized profit alone is around $1.5 billion.
By company, Tesla currently holds 11,509 Bitcoins while SpaceX holds 8,285. The combined total value of Bitcoin held by both companies exceeds $2 billion.
