Lotte Card has reportedly filed a trademark for a Korean won-based stablecoin.
According to KIPRIS, the patent information search service of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, on the 23rd (local time), Lotte Card filed 36 trademarks for Korean won-based stablecoins. These include 12 brand name trademarks such as 'WonBit', 'K-Token', 'LOCA Money', and 24 ticker trademarks including 'WONBIT', 'KTOKEN', and 'LOCAMONEY'.
A Lotte Card official stated, "We applied for both ticker trademarks in English abbreviation form and brand name trademarks centered on Korean notation," and added, "In the future, Korean won-based stablecoins can be utilized in a wide range of markets, including used cars, luxury goods, real estate, and gold."
