It has been reported that China's e-commerce company JD.com has registered the names 'JCOIN' and 'JOYCOIN' as trademarks. Industry insiders predict that these names are likely to be used for stablecoins to be issued in the future.

On the 29th, Ming Pao Hong Kong reported that JD Coinchain, a blockchain subsidiary under JD.com, recently registered the names 'JCOIN' and 'JOYCOIN' as trademarks. According to the registration details, these names are expected to be used for services related to blockchain-based fund transfers and virtual asset (cryptocurrency) financial transactions.

Meanwhile, JD Coinchain is one of the participants in the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA)'s stablecoin issuance sandbox program. Last July, it conducted a stablecoin experiment for cross-border business-to-business payments in collaboration with Tianxing Bank, a virtual bank sponsored by Xiaomi and Futu. Additionally, JD Coinchain is testing a Hong Kong dollar-based stablecoin in the sandbox.
