Scott Bessent, the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, suggested the possibility of concluding the U.S.-China trade negotiations.

In an interview with U.S. CNBC on the 31st (local time), Secretary Bessent stated, "There are still a few technical details remaining, but the foundation for a (U.S.-China trade) agreement has been laid," and added, "I am confident an agreement will be reached, but it is not 100% complete yet."

Secretary Bessent emphasized, "We are ready to make a deal with China." He also said, "I have not yet discussed this issue with President Donald Trump," and "China is strong in negotiations, but so are we."
