Trump: "Ordered deployment of 2 nuclear submarines near Russia"

On the 1st (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump announced via his social media platform Truth Social that he had "ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines in appropriate areas near Russia."

President Trump referenced the provocative remarks made by former Russian President (and current Deputy Chairman of the Security Council) Dmitry Medvedev, warning, "I hope these foolish and inflammatory remarks are not just empty words," and added, "Words are extremely important and often result in unintended consequences."

He continued, "This measure was taken as a precaution," and stated, "The public needs to remain vigilant at this time."

Currently, the White House and the Department of Defense have not announced any related positions, and it remains unconfirmed whether the statement will lead to actual military actions.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman Medvedev stated on his Telegram that "Trump should be aware of the risks of 'Dead Hand' (Perimeter)."

'Perimeter,' also known as the 'Dead Hand,' is a Soviet-era retaliatory system designed to automatically launch nuclear missiles if the top command is wiped out by a U.S. first nuclear strike. Introduced in the early 1980s, it is believed to still be operational.
