Summary

  • The U.S. SEC announced plans to host virtual asset roundtables in major cities across the nation.
  • This event will focus on collecting opinions from small projects, specifically those established within the last 2 years or with fewer than 10 employees.
  • The list of participating projects will be released at a later date, and it was noted that stakeholders' direct feedback could influence policy decisions.

On the 1st (local time), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced via its official website that the virtual asset (cryptocurrency) task force will be touring the United States to hold roundtable meetings.

This roundtable will be presided over by SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce and aims to directly gather opinions from stakeholders who have had difficulty making their voices heard in the virtual asset policy-making process. Of note, the meetings specifically target small-scale projects established within the last 2 years or with fewer than 10 employees.

The SEC plans to later announce a list of projects to participate in the meetings, which will take place in major cities including Berkeley, New York City, Dallas, Chicago, and Boston.
