Virtual asset (cryptocurrency) infrastructure protocol CrediX announced that it has recovered a total of $4.5 million in cryptocurrency after reaching a settlement with the hacker involved in a recent hacking incident.

On the 5th, the virtual asset-specialized media outlet Cointelegraph reported, “CrediX negotiated with the hacker and recovered $4.5 million worth of stolen virtual assets.” The funds returned to CrediX are expected to be distributed to affected user wallets within the next 48 hours via airdrop.

Previously, on the 4th, CrediX experienced a security incident in which digital assets were illegally transferred to the Ethereum network. It was found that the assets were moved to external wallets via Tornado Cash, a virtual asset mixer service.

CrediX explained, “Through negotiations with the hacker, we agreed on the return of funds, and as compensation, a certain amount will be paid from the CrediX treasury.”
