Saylor: "Bitcoin is a global currency asset... Expected to outperform the S&P 500"

Michael Saylor, chairman of MicroStrategy, stated that Bitcoin (BTC) is a global currency asset expected to deliver returns surpassing the S&P 500 index.

On the 9th (local time), in an interview with Bloomberg, Saylor said, "The number of companies utilizing Bitcoin has increased from 60 to 160 over the past 6 months," and "the vast majority of capital flowing into the digital asset sector is still directed towards Bitcoin."

He explained, "Bitcoin is the most transparent and secure global currency asset worldwide," and "in the long term, it can provide returns that exceed the S&P 500 index while also contributing to the improvement of corporate financial structures." He added, "There is over $100 trillion in capital in the traditional stock and bond markets. If this capital moves to digital asset-based stocks and bonds, the performance will far surpass existing fiat currency-based products," predicting that "in this process, Bitcoin will play a central role in the digital asset ecosystem."

Saylor also defined Bitcoin as a ‘long-term holding asset.’ Despite its volatility reaching about 50%, annual returns can also be around 50%, providing high potential value to long-term holders.

He emphasized, "The pace of innovation in the Bitcoin market is accelerating, and the trend of digital asset-based stocks and bonds replacing traditional financial markets has already begun." He stated, "If you set a long-term strategy without being swayed by volatility, Bitcoin will deliver the highest risk-adjusted returns over the coming decades."
