Summary

  • It was reported that institutions and whale investors accumulated approximately ₩1.22 trillion worth of Ethereum just last week.
  • In the market, ETF inflows and Standard Chartered’s raising of the year-end ETH price target to $7,500 are fueling optimism.
  • It was also reported that some whale groups and the Ethereum Foundation have shown profit-taking sell-offs.

Amid expectations for new all-time highs, analysis shows that institutions and whale investors are accumulating Ethereum (ETH) in large quantities. It was tallied that they bought approximately $880 million (about ₩1.22 trillion) worth of ETH just last week.

According to Coindoo, a media outlet specializing in virtual assets (cryptocurrencies), BitMine Immersion Technology purchased 106,485 ETH (about $470 million), increasing its total holdings to 1.29 million ETH (about $5.75 billion). This volume was traded over-the-counter (OTC) via platforms such as Galaxy Digital, FalconX, and BitGo.

Another anonymous whale address transferred 92,899 ETH (about $412 million) from Kraken to a new wallet. This is interpreted as being for long-term holding rather than short-term trading.

Institutional capital inflows are also active. BitMine is raising $24.5 billion through an ‘ATM (At-the-Market) public offering,’ and SharpLink also succeeded in securing $389 million through a rights offering.

Additionally, new whale wallets have recently accumulated a total of $1.3 billion worth of Ethereum across 10 wallets. At the beginning of this month, ETF inflows also exceeded $1 billion.

Optimism for Ethereum is also spreading in the market. Standard Chartered recently raised its year-end 2025 price target for ETH to $7,500 in a report.

However, movements to realize profits have also been observed. The whale group known as ‘7 Siblings’ sold 19,461 ETH (about $88 million) in the past 24 hours, and the Ethereum Foundation has also disposed of 2,800 ETH (about $12.7 million).
