Cryptocurrency exchange Bitpanda has clarified that a listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) is not being considered.
On the 26th (local time), Bitpanda co-founder Eric Demuth said in an interview with the Financial Times, "Bitpanda is actively considering an initial public offering (IPO)," but added, "It will not be on the London Stock Exchange." He further explained, "The London Stock Exchange is poor in terms of liquidity. It will take time to recover."
Bitpanda is reportedly considering a listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange or the New York Stock Exchange. However, no specific timeline has been announced.
The outlet noted, "Low liquidity at the London Stock Exchange was the main factor in this decision," and added, "Many companies are already moving from the London Stock Exchange overseas."
