Story, a blockchain infrastructure for intellectual property (IP), announced on the 27th that it will hold the 'Origin Summit 2025' on September 23 at Anderson C in Seongsu, Seoul, focusing on the trends and future of AI, blockchain, and the IP industry. This event will feature global blockchain specialist media Blockworks and Hankyung Media Group as media partners.

The global IP market has grown to about $80 trillion, becoming a key asset set to define the future of AI technology competition. However, fair compensation models and management systems have lagged behind industrial development. To overcome these limitations, Story has developed programmable IP to expand collaboration between IP creators and AI companies, striving for IP financialization and establishing a transparent management system. The Origin Summit is designed to offer in-depth insights into the future growth drivers of the IP market and to share Story's vision for tokenized IP technology and ecosystem strategy.

Along with announcing the Origin Summit, Story has unveiled a preliminary lineup of speakers who have pioneered the global recognition of Korean IP. ▲Jeong Kyung-in, CEO of The Black Label founded by BLACKPINK’s chief producer Teddy ▲Yoo Dong-joo, APAC Representative of HYBE Music Group ▲Lee Sung-soo, CAO (Chief A&R Officer) of SM Entertainment, recognized as the founder of the K-pop genre ▲Lee Seung-kyu, co-founder of The Pinkfong Company, producers of "Baby Shark" ▲Song Jae-kyung, dubbed “the Father of Lineage,” co-founder of Nexon and advisor to Verse8, will participate as speakers and attendees. Other notable participants include ▲Sandeep Chinchali, Chief AI Officer of Story ▲Choi Sung-hwan, President and Chief Business Officer of SK Networks ▲Amy Oldenburg, Head of Emerging Markets Equity at Morgan Stanley Investment Management ▲Rayhaneh Sharif-Askary, Managing Director at Grayscale ▲Luca Netz, founder of Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) ▲Yat Siu, Chairman of Animoca Brands, and other global leaders in AI, finance, and virtual assets are also expected to attend.

Story plans to position this event as an IP economy insight hub and host it in succession around the globe. Seoul has been chosen as the first venue, with expectations for the convergence of culture, capital, and technology in Korea to spark new ideas and possibilities. Korea has emerged as a global IP powerhouse with the international success of K-pop and K-dramas, recording $13.6 billion in cultural IP exports last year. Additionally, except for the United States, Korea has the largest number of ChatGPT paid subscribers in the world, and about 15.6 million people—roughly 30% of the total population—invest in virtual assets, making Korea's AI and Web3 adoption rates among the highest globally. The achievements of companies such as Samsung, LG, Hyundai, and SK in physical AI and robotics also demonstrate Korea’s position as a global innovation hub.

Story founder Lee Seung-yoon stated, “IP is the backbone of creation, culture, and innovation, encompassing AI training data, music, biotech patents, content, and user-generated content (UGC), but it is still closed and fragmented, making it difficult for the market to recognize its true value as an asset. The Origin Summit aims to address these issues and serve as a platform for AI, blockchain, and finance leaders to explore new possibilities for IP.”

Meanwhile, to address legal transparency and quality issues of AI training data, Story recently unveiled the decentralized data layer ‘Poseidon’ and secured $15 million in investment from global venture capital firm a16z. In July, the world’s second largest digital asset management firm Grayscale launched a Story trust product, opening up IP token access for institutional investors, and in August, Nasdaq-listed Heritage Distilling announced a $360 million digital asset treasury strategy based on IP tokens, further raising interest in the Story ecosystem across the industry.

Story’s IP tokens have been officially listed on major domestic exchanges such as Upbit, Bithumb, and Coinone, as well as international exchanges including Coinbase, OKX, Bybit, and KuCoin.
