On the 27th (local time), Metaplanet announced on X (formerly Twitter), "We plan to issue new shares to raise funds for a Bitcoin purchase," and added, "A total of 555 million new shares will be issued to overseas investors outside Japan."
The issue price will be finalized in September. However, industry sources estimate that the raised funds will range between $837 million and $881 million.
Currently, Metaplanet holds 18,991 BTC, ranking 7th globally among listed companies for Bitcoin reserves.
