President Lee "Candid talks with Trump…Confirmed the strong ROK-U.S. alliance"

"Discussion of a shared vision for the security of the Korean Peninsula and world peace"

President Lee Jae-myung said on the 28th regarding the results of the ROK-U.S. summit, "More than anything, it was meaningful that through candid talks with U.S. President Donald Trump we built deep trust and confirmed the firmness of the ROK-U.S. alliance."

In a message posted on Instagram that day, the president said, "I have safely completed my visit to the United States and returned. I report this to the people."

He recalled, "In particular, this visit was a meaningful time to design the Republic of Korea's sustainable future and to discuss in detail the shared vision of the ROK and the U.S. for the security of the Korean Peninsula and, furthermore, world peace and prosperity." He added, "The two countries will solidify a strategic partnership to grow together in various fields such as the economy, advanced technology, and supply chains, beyond a military and security alliance."

He also promised, "Since we deeply discussed the multifaceted challenges facing the ROK and the U.S. at this meeting, we will do our best so that the people can feel the results in their lives as soon as possible."

He continued, "The government will continue to respond swiftly to the currents of the times based on practical diplomacy centered on the national interest," and emphasized, "We will spare no effort to ensure that the Republic of Korea stands tall as a pivotal country that fulfills international responsibilities and roles on the world stage."
