Changpeng Zhao "Bitcoin will become the global reserve currency"

Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of Binance, predicted, "Bitcoin will eventually become the global reserve currency."

On the 28th (local time), attending Bitcoin Asia, CZ said, "I have witnessed the evolution of Bitcoin firsthand," and added, "It is very encouraging to see not only the traditional financial industry but also governments and states adopting Bitcoin and other virtual assets (cryptocurrencies)." He emphasized, "We have already come a long way," and "The day when Bitcoin takes on a central role in the global financial system is not far off."

He also mentioned the diversity of blockchains. CZ explained, "Bitcoin grew because of characteristics like block size and decentralization, while Ethereum has established itself as a 'compute blockchain (computational blockchain),'" and "Other blockchains have come to serve different purposes, such as blockchains specialized for memes or for providing liquidity." He continued, "The current blockchain ecosystem is developing to meet different purposes," and added, "This diversification will ultimately accelerate the growth of the virtual asset industry."
