On the 29th (local time), according to virtual asset (cryptocurrency) media CryptoBasic, Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed game company Gumi plans to purchase about 2.5 billion yen (about 23.7 billion won) worth of XRP (XRP).
Gumi plans to carry out staggered purchases over about five months from September until February 2026. This is the second large-scale virtual asset investment following its earlier purchase of about 1 billion yen worth of Bitcoin (BTC) in the first half of this year.
Industry observers say Gumi's consecutive virtual asset purchases reflect a move by Japanese companies to expand their virtual asset investments.
