The Korea Economic Daily and Hankyung Media Group's virtual-asset specialist media Bloomingbit, along with blockchain investment firm Hashed, will hold the global digital asset conference 'Eastpoint Seoul 2025'. World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a virtual-asset investment firm founded by members of U.S. President Donald Trump's family, will participate as a co-host. As the Trump family's interest in virtual-asset business grows, analysts say they highly value Korea's potential as a major digital asset market.
WLFI decided on the 2nd to participate as a co-host in Eastpoint Seoul 2025, which will be held on the 22nd at the Grand Hyatt in Hannam-dong, Seoul. Eastpoint, being held for the first time this year, is a private conference that brings together domestic and international companies, financial firms, government agencies, and blockchain ecosystem entrepreneurs who will lead the future of global digital assets. WLFI is a virtual-asset financial company established by President Trump and his three sons—Donald Trump Jr., Eric and Barron Trump—together with Steve Witkoff, a long-time associate of the president and a former U.S. special representative for the Middle East.
At the event, Jack Witkoff, son of special representative Witkoff and WLFI chief executive officer (CEO), will give the keynote address. CEO Witkoff is regarded as a next-generation leader closely connected to key figures in the Trump administration within the global virtual-asset market. Visiting Korea for the first time, he will present WLFI's core business direction. CEO Witkoff said, "It is a great honor to co-host the Eastpoint event," and added, "It will be a meaningful opportunity to share WLFI's business strategy."
Key figures from the U.S. virtual-asset policy line will also make a full appearance. Caroline Pham, acting chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC); Harry Jeong, deputy director of the White House Presidential Working Group on Digital Assets; and Bo Hines, former chair of the White House virtual-asset advisory committee (currently U.S. strategic adviser to Tether), among others, will attend as speakers and panelists. Global institutions and corporate representatives such as Temasek of Singapore, Japan's SMBC Nikko Securities, Mastercard, and PayPal Ventures are also expected to attend in large numbers. Domestically, lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties, including Min Byung-deok, Kim Jae-seop, and Lee Jun-seok, as well as representatives from the four major commercial banks—Kookmin, Shinhan, Hana, and Woori—brokerage firms, asset managers, and large corporations will participate.
A core program of Eastpoint, the private roundtable session, will be held. Five to six senior figures from each field gather not for formal presentations but for candid and strategic discussions. Kim Seo-jun, CEO of Hashed, said, "Through the Eastpoint conference, we will create an opportunity for Korea to establish itself as a strategic gateway to the global digital asset market."
