On the 6th, according to virtual assets (cryptocurrencies) specialized media Odaily, the Hong Kong government has recently begun preparatory work through banks for a potential digital bond issuance. If this issuance goes ahead, it would be the Hong Kong government's third digital bond issuance.
Previously, the Hong Kong government issued tokenized green bonds worth 800 million Hong Kong dollars in 2023 as part of its green bond program. Then in 2024, it also issued multi-currency based digital green bonds worth approximately 6 billion Hong Kong dollars.
