The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will hold an emergency meeting on the 10th (local time) regarding Israel's airstrike on the leadership of the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Doha, Qatar, on the 9th (local time).
According to foreign media such as AFP and TASS, the UNSC emergency meeting, to be held at 3 p.m. on the 10th local time in New York, was reportedly requested by Algeria and Pakistan.
On the 9th, Israel carried out a sudden airstrike on Doha targeting senior figures of the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
Qatar has served as a mediator for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip war, and this is the first time Israel has attacked Qatar during the two-year war.
South Korea is currently the president of the UN Security Council. As an elected Security Council member, South Korea is serving as the rotating president for this month.
