"Ethereum 'Fusaka' upgrade planned for mainnet deployment within the year"

Ethereum (ETH) developers have finalized an optimistic schedule for the next-generation upgrade 'Fusaka'. If things proceed smoothly, it could be applied to the mainnet as early as November and at the latest by year-end.

On the 11th (local time), the Ethereum core developer meeting disclosed the testnet deployment schedule for the Fusaka upgrade. First, the block height will be finalized on the 18th, and a client version for the public testnet will be released on the 22nd. Next, upgrades will proceed on the testnets in the following order: △29th Holesky (Holesky) △October 13 Sepolia (Sepolia) △October 27 Hoodi (Hoodi).

Developers said they will review the progress of the public testnet upgrades and then reconsider the timing for mainnet deployment. If debugging and analysis go smoothly, there is hope that a November mainnet inclusion could be possible.

Meanwhile, Tim Beiko, co-lead of the Protocol Coordination team at the Ethereum Foundation, proposed revisions to the protocol upgrade process document. The main points are △prohibiting simultaneous deployment of testnet and mainnet forks (multiple testnet forks are allowed) △ensuring at least 14 days between a client release and the first testnet fork △maintaining at least 10 days, ideally two weeks, between testnet forks △ensuring at least 30 days between a client release and a mainnet fork, etc.
