The Financial Services Commission will hold a briefing for all staff on the afternoon of the 12th. It is interpreted as a move to gather internal opinions and provide explanations, as internal backlash has intensified following the announcement of the financial supervisory system reform.

According to Financial Services Commission officials, the Administration and Personnel Division notified via a note that "a briefing on organizational restructuring will be held for all employees at 3:30 PM."

The meeting will be held both in the Financial Services Commission headquarters' main conference room and online. An Financial Services Commission official said, "It is not known whether Lee Eok-won, the nominee for Financial Services Commission chairman, or Kwon Dae-young, the vice chairman, will host the meeting."

Recently, senior party and government officials announced a reorganization plan that would disband the Financial Services Commission and transfer the FSC's core financial policy functions (including the Financial Intelligence Unit) wholesale to the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

FSC staff strongly protested the sudden decision to dismantle the organization. Unusually, protest posts continued on the Financial Services Commission's internal 'anonymous bulletin board,' spreading calls for further explanation and response.
