On the 13th, President Trump posted in the form of an open letter on his social media Truth Social: "If all NATO members stop purchasing Russian crude oil and agree to the same sanctions, the United States is ready to impose large-scale sanctions as well," adding, "This would increase negotiating leverage and is a way to quickly end the war."
President Trump also said, "If NATO imposes tariffs of 50~100% on China until the Russia-Ukraine war ends, China's influence over Russia would weaken," and said, "This war is not my fault but the war of former President Biden and President Zelensky." He added, "If NATO acts on my proposal, it could save thousands of lives."
