On the 15th, President Trump said via the social networking service (SNS) Truth Social, "The big trade negotiation between the United States and China held in Europe went very well. It will be concluded soon."
He went on, "We also reached an agreement regarding a 'certain' company that our country's young people very much wanted to save," and said, "They will be very happy." This appears to refer to the sale of the U.S. business rights of the Chinese video platform TikTok.
He added, "I will speak (have a call) with Chairman Xi Jinping on Friday (September 19)," and said, "The (U.S.-China) relationship is still very strong."
