Koscom has moved to respond to the market by filing five trademark applications to commercialize a Korean won stablecoin business.

On the 17th, industry sources said Koscom filed trademark applications for won stablecoin-related names such as 'KSDC', 'KRW24', 'KRW365', 'KOSWON', and 'KORWON'. This is a measure in line with the recent industry-wide trend of securing stablecoin trademarks.

Koscom reorganized by expanding its existing Future Business Division into the unit directly under the president, the 'Digital Asset Business Promotion TF'. This appears to be a strategy to elevate the organization's status and strengthen momentum as the importance of digital asset business grows.

The new TF is pursuing a technology verification (PoC) for stablecoins and is examining the possibility of applying them to capital market settlements. It is also reviewing plans to introduce stablecoins as a payment method in subscription and distribution processes in connection with the tokenized securities business, and is proceeding with phased technology development and verification.

Koscom regularly publishes research reports on digital assets and actively participates in market analysis and the creation of policy and industry ecosystems. It recently registered 1 additional blockchain-related patent, bringing its total to 4 patents, and is strengthening the foundation for adoption in the capital market by simultaneously securing intellectual property and verifying technology.
