Summary

  • Taiko announced that it has adopted Chainlink Data Streams as its official oracle infrastructure.
  • With this integration, Taiko said it will receive capabilities such as liquidity-weighted buy/sell spreads and a proven infrastructure that has supported over $25 trillion in on-chain trading.
  • Taiko said this secures the foundation to implement various DeFi services such as lending protocols and derivatives platforms and institutional-grade blockchain applications.

Taiko (TAIKO), the first base rollup project for Ethereum (ETH), has partnered with Chainlink (LINK) to expand the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem.

On the 17th (local time), Taiko announced that it has adopted Chainlink Data Streams as the official oracle infrastructure for its network. The integration will first be applied on Taiko's testnet 'Alethia', and is expected to promote the development of various on-chain applications based on reliable market data.

Chainlink Data Streams is a solution that has established itself as an industry standard, providing second-level precision market data. In particular, it will provide Taiko with ▲ liquidity-weighted buy/sell spreads for risk management ▲ a flexible reporting framework capable of containing deep market data ▲ a proven infrastructure that has supported over $25 trillion in on-chain trading.

Through this, Taiko has laid the foundation to implement DeFi services such as lending protocols and derivatives platforms, as well as institutional-grade blockchain applications. It is also expected that macroeconomic data from the U.S. Department of Commerce could be posted to Taiko.

Joaquin Mendes, Taiko's Chief Operating Officer (COO), said, "By adopting Chainlink as the official oracle, the ecosystem can utilize secure and precise data," adding, "This will lay a growth foundation beyond existing DeFi and accelerate institutional adoption."

Chainlink also expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. Johan Eid, Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Chainlink Labs, emphasized, "Taiko's adoption of Chainlink Data Streams is significant," adding, "Through the proven infrastructure, Taiko will be able to accelerate DeFi innovation."
