Swiss-based tech startup Matrix (Matrix fun) said on the 17th that it successfully concluded the Web3 game tournament 'Movement Cup' (Movement Cup).
The tournament was held from September 13 to 16 for 72 hours using the game 'CPT Hyperjump'. In particular, it focused on attracting Web2 gamers into the Web3 ecosystem by ensuring that all prizes were returned to actual players through fair and transparent on-chain reward distribution.
Held with Binance's official KOL (Key Opinion Leader), the event drew a total of 4,000 gamers and crypto asset (cryptocurrency) holders; participants played an average of 18.2 matches each, recording a total of 73,054 matches. The prize pool was $40,000.
Matrix aims to go beyond a simple gaming platform and naturally bring Web2 gamers into Web3. In fact, at a Brawl Stars tournament held in Seoul last June, a pro team ranked in the world top 10 opened a crypto asset wallet for the first time and purchased tokens via a decentralized exchange (DEX).
The Matrix platform automatically records all tournament data on-chain, and the entire process, including prize distribution, is handled in a decentralized manner. Organizers, participants, and sponsors can freely host and participate in tournaments without needing to contact the Matrix team directly.
Nolan de Fu, Matrix CEO, said, "We were able to maintain a high participation rate by scoring every day over the three days. Such sustained activity is an unusual achievement in Web3 campaigns," adding, "Next week I will visit South Korea to share strategies for global market expansion."
