Kevin Durant invested in Bitcoin 10 years ago… "Still holding — can't find the account yet"
Summary
- Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman said they invested in Bitcoin 10 years ago.
- The two said they were unable to sell the Bitcoin they hold and that they are still holding the asset.
- Kleiman indirectly stated that the value of the holdings has increased significantly and that it is receiving attention from an investment perspective.

NBA superstar Kevin Durant and his agent Rich Kleiman revealed an anecdote about a past Bitcoin (BTC) investment. The two recounted with a laugh, "We haven't been able to sell the Bitcoin we invested in 10 years ago even once."
On the 19th (local time), Durant told CNBC in an interview, "Around 2014 I came across Bitcoin on YouTube and became interested. I was very interested in future technologies and Rich talked to me about Bitcoin." However, the business manager at the time opposed it, and it did not lead to an actual investment.
Kleiman recalled, "Right after Durant signed with the Golden State Warriors, Ben Horowitz threw a birthday party for him and that evening I heard the word 'Bitcoin' dozens of times," adding, "After that day, we began to seriously invest in Bitcoin."
An interesting point is that Durant and Kleiman's Bitcoin has not been sold even once to this day. Kleiman said, "Unfortunately, we still haven't been able to find Durant's Coinbase account information," and "In the end we never sold, and as a result the current value of the holdings has skyrocketed."
