D'CENT wallet launches 'Gaspass' feature…supports unrestricted on-chain service use

Summary

  • D'CENT announced the launch of the 'Gaspass' feature that pays the essential gas fees for blockchain transactions on users' behalf.
  • Gaspass reportedly supports unrestricted use of on-chain services in multi-chain environments without network-specific tokens.
  • They expect that introducing this feature will lower the barriers to on-chain transactions and accelerate blockchain mainstream adoption.

Global digital asset wallet brand D'CENT has officially launched the 'Gaspass' feature, which pays the network fees (gas fees) that are necessarily incurred during blockchain transactions on users' behalf. Gaspass resolves the inconvenience of transactions being blocked due to the absence of a network's native token and supports users in using on-chain services more freely.

In blockchain transactions, network-specific tokens such as Ethereum's ETH and Solana's SOL must be held to pay fees. For this reason, even if assets are sufficient, transactions can fail without the native token, and fees can surge during network congestion, making use difficult—issues that have been consistently pointed out. In particular, in multi-chain environments, the hassle of having to prepare gas fees separately for each network has been cited as a major barrier to blockchain mainstream adoption.

The Gaspass introduced by D'CENT is a service aimed at fundamentally solving these problems. If a user holds a Gaspass, D'CENT pays the actual fee on their behalf during a transaction, and the coupon is automatically applied to all on-chain transactions such as transfers, swaps, and NFT purchases. Users can proceed with transactions intuitively like a regular finance app without additional settings.

The newly launched Gaspass is currently supported on major networks Ethereum and Base, and Solana will also be supported soon. The first distribution will be prioritized for holders of the Tap That Drop Season 1 NFT, which D'CENT is currently running, and for participants of an offline event taking place next week, and the target audience will be gradually expanded thereafter. D'CENT also plans to progressively expand supported networks by actively reflecting user requests.

A D'CENT representative said, "Gas fees are one of the most common inconveniences blockchain users face, and experiences have often been limited due to transaction failures or high fees," adding, "Through Gaspass, we will support everyone to use on-chain services without worrying about gas fees and accelerate the mainstream adoption of blockchain."
