'XRPL Hackathon Seoul 2025' concludes… 30 teams participated, showcasing numerous blockchain and fintech ideas

XRPL Korea said on the 24th that 'XRPL Hackathon Seoul 2025' was held at Seoul DreamPlus Gangnam from the 20th to the 21st and concluded successfully.

The event was held to mark the opening of Korea Blockchain Week (KBW 2025). Around 150 participants and 30 teams took part in fierce competition. The hackathon was held under the theme of the convergence of blockchain and fintech, and participating teams presented innovative ideas across various areas such as payments, asset management, and data utilization, proving the potential for expansion of the XRPL ecosystem.

The hackathon had Ripple as the official title sponsor, and was organized and hosted by XRPL Korea. Partners included Seoul Fintech Lab, Strong Ventures, Intervest, JB Investment, Tenity, Simsan Ventures, Gwanak Small and Medium Venture Promotion Agency, Nanum Angels, Andis Partners, ABC Patent Law Office, Certik, and others. In addition, Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Ewha Womans University Startup Support Center, Yonsei University Startup Support Center, as well as InfiniteBlock, RocketPunch, and Glims also participated.

As a result of the final judging, the grand prize went to team Uniport. The Best Award went to SportiQue, and the Excellence Award went to Traverse. Special awards went to the TartAI and pAdrop teams. Both teams were recognized for their innovativeness and growth potential. Awarded teams received a total prize of 15 million won. Along with this, various benefits were provided, including opportunities for 'XRPL Grants' support, demo day participation rights, additional points for admission and accelerator program linkage, and patent filing support.

The winning team Uniport unveiled an administrative solution that automates the initial settlement process for foreigners entering the country. This solution supports processing the alien registration card application at the airport within 30 minutes, and in the payment process uses stablecoins such as XRP or RLUSD to provide fee reduction and tax-exempt benefits. Uniport received high scores as a service that can contribute to the expansion of the XRP Ledger ecosystem.

Gu Jeong-tae, Growth Manager at Catalyze Research (Head of Growth), who leads XRPL Korea, said, "At this hackathon, many participants confirmed the infinite possibilities of the XRP Ledger and web3 and proposed creative ideas through the convergence of blockchain and fintech," adding, "XRP Ledger Korea will support the participants of this hackathon so that they can continue to develop projects on the XRP Ledger."
