Summary

  • CoinDesk reported that the Solana (SOL) network's transaction throughput is expected to increase.
  • It said that SIMD-0370, proposed by the Firedancer team, and the Alpenglow upgrade will remove the existing compute unit limit.
  • These changes are expected to allow more transactions to be processed depending on validator performance and to mitigate issues that occurred during surges in DeFi activity.

On the 29th (local time), according to crypto asset (cryptocurrency) specialist media CoinDesk, a proposal was submitted to allow Solana (SOL) block producers to process larger blocks, and the network's transaction throughput is expected to increase. The proposal is included in SIMD-0370, put forward by the Firedancer development team under Jump Crypto.

Through the Alpenglow upgrade, the previous maximum allowed compute unit (CU) limit will be removed, allowing validators to process more transactions depending on their performance.

The industry expects this to reduce network congestion and transaction failures that occurred during surges in DeFi activity.
