Summary

  • Acurast is a project that uses Staked Compute technology to pool hundreds of millions of smartphones into a single distributed cloud infrastructure resource.
  • It reported that more than 400 million transactions have been processed on the testnet, and more than $200 million in crypto assets are managed in a secure environment.
  • Acurast completed $5.4 million in fundraising, and the ACU token's token generation event (TGE) is scheduled for Q4 this year.

The decentralized cloud project Acurast has begun building next-generation cloud infrastructure using smartphones. The plan is to use 'Staked Compute' technology to pool hundreds of millions of smartphones worldwide into a single massive cloud resource.

On the 1st (local time), Acurast said, "More than 130,000 smartphones are already connected to the Acurast cloud infrastructure network based on Staked Compute, and more than 50,000 community participants are active." To date, more than 400 million transactions have been processed on the testnet, and cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, TON, and Polkadot totaling over $200 million are being managed in a secure environment.

Acurast founder Alessandro De Carli emphasized, "Smartphones are already powerful devices," adding, "Through Staked Compute, anyone can prove their device's performance, perform real tasks, and receive rewards. A pure protocol-based cloud that does not require massive data centers."

Acurast's network highlights TEE-based secure computation, on-chain hardware attestation, and support for JavaScript, TypeScript, and WASM as core technologies. Users can connect devices to the network via the dedicated application 'Acurast Processor,' and developers can view documentation and benchmark metrics and deploy services from the 'Acurast Hub.'

Acurast aims to position itself as an alternative to centralized clouds such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and Google Cloud. It has raised $5.4 million on CoinList so far, and the 'ACU' token will be used for network fees, staking, and governance. The token generation event (TGE) is scheduled for Q4 this year.

Also, users who convert their smartphones into cloud nodes can earn the network reward token 'MIST.' The project links this to a 'cloud level-up' system, combining game elements so participants can unlock boosts, rewards, and secret quests step by step.
