Global crypto asset (cryptocurrency) exchange Coinbase is launching a large-scale digital asset support program targeting low-income young people in New York.
On the 3rd (local time), according to crypto-focused media BeInCrypto, Coinbase said it will collaborate with the nonprofit GiveDirectly to select 160 low-income residents aged 18–30 by lottery and plans to distribute a total of US$12,000 in the stablecoin USDC over six installments.
The program was set up to test the potential of a direct support model using digital assets. Coinbase said it aims to show that blockchain technology can contribute to financial inclusion and social support.
