Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) revealed his meeting with SoftBank chairman Masayoshi Son.
On the 9th, according to cryptocurrency-focused outlet Odaily, CZ posted a photo with Chairman Son on his X (formerly Twitter) account. In the post he wrote, "It's not AI, it's a meeting of BNB and Japan."
The meeting took place shortly after news that Japan's SoftBank Group-affiliated financial services company PayPay had agreed to acquire a 40% stake in Binance Japan. PayPay, Japan's largest cashless payment service with more than 70 million users, is seeking to expand into the digital asset payments and remittances field.
