The U.S. Department of the Treasury said it plans to release the Treasury Budget Statement after the government shutdown is lifted.
On the 9th (local time), virtual asset-specialized media Odaily reported that U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent, saying "the current regulatory framework is too strict," said, "the government will release the budget report after the government is normalized." He added, "The U.S. fiscal deficit ratio for fiscal year 2025 will decrease significantly relative to gross domestic product (GDP)."
The budget statement is a key fiscal indicator that aggregates the federal government's revenues and expenditures on a monthly basis, and the market uses it to analyze fiscal soundness and trends in government bond issuance.
Meanwhile, it has also been pointed out that the shutdown has halted the release of statistics from major departments such as the Department of the Treasury and the Department of Labor, creating a temporary gap in evaluating U.S. economic and fiscal trends.
