The legitimate remix platform 'KORUS', which features Grammy-winning artist Imogen Heap, Plastikman (Richie Hawtin), and mau5trap, has been officially launched through a collaboration with the Camp Network blockchain. Through this collaboration, fans can legally remix music under copyright protection and register the results as on-chain assets to receive revenue distribution.

On the 15th (local time), Camp Network said in an official announcement, "KORUS is the first AI-based application that supports music fans to legally remix artists' tracks and mint them as on-chain copyrights (IP)." All remixes have their copyrights registered immediately upon creation, and revenue structures and royalties are automatically managed through Camp Network's blockchain infrastructure.

While artists in the existing music market receive only negligible cents per stream, KORUS emphasized that its on-chain licensing structure on Camp Network can create value such that a single sale of a remix pack could exceed annual streaming revenue. Fans can participate in remixing legally, and artists can automatically receive royalties to form a sustainable revenue structure.

James Chi, co-founder of Camp Network, said, "Fandom should no longer remain in a legal gray area," adding, "The collaboration between KORUS and Camp is an example of building a sustainable ecosystem where artists receive upfront revenue and fans can create legally." He added, "Registering copyrights on-chain and automatically distributing royalties represents a structural innovation in the music industry."

KORUS is based on Camp Network's 'Proof-of-Provenance' protocol. This ensures that copyrights are registered from the moment a remix track is created, and all subsequent secondary uses and revenues are automatically tracked on the blockchain. Content jointly created by artists and fans records clear provenance and distribution ratios, and is expected to be able to replace the opaque settlement structure of the existing music industry.

Inder Phull, founder of KOR Protocol, which provides the KORUS service, explained, "Remix culture is at the core of modern music, but until now creators had no legally safe way to participate," adding, "KORUS has presented a new creative model that realizes both rights protection and collaborative creation."

Camp Network is a layer-1 blockchain designed to handle copyright registration, license management, and royalty distribution at the execution layer. Users can tokenize all forms of intellectual property (IP) and directly manage copyrights of AI models or creations on the blockchain based on this. The company said, "This collaboration will serve as a starting signal to expand the on-chain copyright ecosystem from music to various content industries such as video, fashion, and design."

KORUS began a staggered open to users registered on the waitlist as of today, and plans to reveal additional artists and music catalogs centered on remix campaigns by Imogen Heap, Plastikman, mau5trap, and Beatport in the future.
