Global virtual asset (cryptocurrency) exchange Bybit has enabled crypto payments at more than 25,000 stores across Armenia through its payment service 'Bybit Pay'. This partnership is expected to further expand Armenia's digital payment infrastructure.
On the 21st (local time), according to crypto-focused media CryptoBriefing, Bybit Pay partnered with local digital payment company Idram to enable QR code-based crypto payments at affiliated merchants nationwide.
Bybit plans to support payments in major digital assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and USDT through this partnership. Users can use the Bybit Pay application for both offline store payments and online shopping mall payments.
An industry source said, "Bybit's move to expand payment infrastructure in emerging markets is a strategy to strengthen its global user base," adding, "The spread of crypto payments in the real economy could accelerate."
