Bithumb runs donation campaign for the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day

Domestic virtual asset exchange Bithumb said on the 22nd that more than 40,000 members participated in the "Donation Campaign to Improve the Housing Environment of Descendants of Independence Activists," held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, raising a total of KRW 40,980,000.

The campaign was held by Bithumb together with fashion brand Lakai Korea from August 11 to 31. The campaign was structured so that KRW 10,000 was credited when members registered a donation code in the Bithumb app.

The donations were delivered to Habitat for Humanity Korea, an international housing welfare non-profit. Habitat for Humanity Korea is the Korean branch of the international non-profit Habitat for Humanity, carrying out housing construction and community development projects for those in poor housing conditions.

The entire amount raised will be used for a project to improve the housing environment of second-generation descendants of independence activists. A Bithumb official said, "We are pleased to be able to practice meaningful sharing with our members on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day," adding, "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibility and carry out social contribution activities for neighbors in blind spots through cooperation with various organizations."
