Fintech firm Revolut has obtained a 'Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA)' license from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), allowing it to provide regulated crypto asset services across the 30 countries of the European Economic Area (EEA).

According to CoinDesk on the 23rd (local time), Revolut said, "We have obtained a MiCA license from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission," calling it "a key turning point in our strategy to expand our crypto asset business." Revolut is a global fintech company with more than 65 million users worldwide.

The company plans to launch a 'Crypto 2.0' platform based on this approval. The platform will offer trading of more than 280 tokens, fee-free staking with up to 22% annual reward rates, and a 1:1 stablecoin-to-dollar direct conversion feature (no spread), among other things.

Costas Mikael, chief executive officer (CEO) of Revolut's European crypto arm, said, "This authorization enables us to offer the European community trustworthy next-generation crypto asset products."
