U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren is expected to introduce a resolution in the Senate criticizing President Donald Trump's decision to pardon Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of Binance. The move shows that political controversy related to the Trump administration's virtual assets (cryptocurrency) policy is spreading.
On the 27th (local time), according to Decrypt, Senator Warren plans to submit the resolution condemning the president's pardon decision this week. Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, who has supported the virtual assets industry, is also participating as a co-sponsor.
In a letter sent to all senators, Warren and Schiff said, "The announcement that President Trump will pardon Changpeng Zhao is the result of months of deepening business relations between Zhao and the Trump family," and emphasized, "Congress must establish institutional measures to prevent corruption by public officials, including the president's family."
However, the outlet reported that "a resolution directly condemning President Trump is unlikely to pass in the Senate." A vote on the resolution is expected to be held this week.
