U.S. tech company IBM has launched an integrated management platform for virtual assets (cryptocurrencies) for institutions, governments, and enterprises, 'IBM Digital Asset Haven'. The platform was jointly developed with Dfns, a wallet service company that Coinbase invested in.
On the 27th (local time), according to crypto-focused media The Block, IBM said in an official announcement, "Banks and government agencies can now manage the entire process of digital assets — from custody to trading and settlement — in a single solution," calling it "an enterprise-grade platform with both regulatory compliance and integration features."
Digital Asset Haven supports a total of 40 public and private blockchains and is designed around transaction lifecycle management features.
It also includes pre-integrated functions such as identity verification (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML), multi-party approvals, and yield generation.
IBM explained, "It was designed so that institutional customers can perform wallet creation, trade execution, asset custody, and key security all within a single environment." IBM has participated in the development of enterprise blockchain frameworks such as Hyperledger for more than 10 years.
Dfns recently completed integration with IBM's Hyper Protect Virtual Servers, applying hardware-based security to its institutional wallet. Dfns raised US$13.5 million in a seed round led by White Star Capital in 2022 and US$16 million in a Series A round in 2024.
