On the 8th (local time), the decentralized prediction platform Polymarket saw large fluctuations in the predicted probability of the U.S. government reopening, and the probability that "the government will reopen after November 16" rose to 54%.

The probability that it would "reopen between the 12th and 15th" was calculated at 32%, while the probability that it would "reopen between the 8th and 11th" fell to 12%.

Earlier, the U.S. Congress failed to pass the S.3012 consent bill, known as the 'Shutdown Fairness Act.' The bill was reported to be designed to guarantee pay and allowances to excepted employees and service members during a government shutdown.
