Woori Bank, the first among commercial banks, displays 'Bitcoin' prices in its dealing room

Woori Bank said on the 5th that it is displaying Bitcoin (BTC) price information alongside exchange rates and stock prices on the electronic display board in the dealing room at its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul. Woori Bank is the first among commercial banks to display virtual assets (cryptocurrencies) price information.
A Woori Bank official explained, "We determined that as the status and influence of digital assets in the global financial market grow, it is necessary to monitor them as key indicators for reading market trends alongside exchange rates and interest rates."
Recently, Woori Bank has shown its intention to enter the digital asset market.
Jeong Jin-wan, Woori Bank President, said in a message sent to employees last October on the occasion of collaboration with Samsung Electronics' simple payment service Samsung Wallet Money·Points, "New opportunities will open in the flow in which the payment and digital asset ecosystems are connected as one."
