The UK right-wing party 'Reform UK' is reported to have received a large donation from virtual asset (cryptocurrency) investor Christopher Harborne.

On the 6th (Korean time), Bloomberg reported that Bitcoin (BTC) early investor Christopher Harborne delivered a donation of 9 million pounds (about 17.5 billion won) to Reform UK.

This donation is regarded as an important turning point that could change the stance on virtual assets in UK politics. Bloomberg reported that Reform UK is likely to strengthen its relations with the virtual asset industry through this donation and actively pursue policies related to virtual assets. In particular, Reform UK is expected to advocate pro-virtual-asset policies scheduled to take effect from 2026.

In addition to Harborne's donation, Reform UK has received a donation of 30,000 pounds from Oscar Townsley, the founder of Bitcoin derivatives trading firm A1X. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has been strengthening policies through cooperation with the virtual asset industry and has expressed opposition to the Bank of England's regulation of stablecoins (virtual assets pegged to fiat currency).
