ZKsync announced that it plans to end operations of 'ZKsync Lite', the initial version of the zk-rollup launched in 2020, in 2026.
On the 8th (local time), the ZKsync team said on X, "We plan to discontinue ZKsync Lite in 2026, and will provide a detailed shutdown schedule next year." The change does not affect ZKsync's other systems, and a dedicated migration guide for users will also be provided.
Currently, approximately $50 million in assets remain on Lite, and withdrawals to Layer 1 (L1) will remain operational. The project said it will prioritize user asset protection and support the migration process with sufficient time.
