Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, emphasized that the global financial system is rapidly moving to an on-chain basis, and that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is showing important leadership.
On the 10th (local time), Armstrong said at the Abu Dhabi Finance Week (ADFW) held at the ADQ Arena in Abu Dhabi, "The global financial system is increasingly transitioning to on-chain more rapidly, and the global financial regulatory environment is being organized," adding, "In this process the UAE is presenting a clear policy framework and promoting digital asset innovation."
Armstrong emphasized on-chain transactions and tokenization as the core of digital financial transformation. He said, "As major financial functions such as payments and settlements move on-chain, costs and processing times are greatly reduced," and explained, "These changes are leading a structural reorganization of global financial infrastructure." He went on to say, "Tokenization, which represents various assets on-chain, makes access to ownership more equitable and is an important means that allows more people to hold·trade assets at lower cost and with simpler procedures than traditional methods."
He again emphasized that the UAE is playing a leading role in this change. Armstrong said, "The UAE is one of the few countries with regulatory clarity and an industry-friendly environment," and "Many global companies are choosing this region as a strategic hub."
He continued, "The economic importance of digital assets will further expand in the future," and predicted, "By 2030 the global financial structure will be significantly different from today. On-chain infrastructure and tokenization will become the common language of future finance."
