A user in China had her account suspended after writing 'Dogecoin (DOGE)' in the memo field of a bank transfer.

On the 12th (Korean time), Sina News reported that a China Construction Bank user transferred 250 yuan to her husband several months ago and wrote "Dogecoin this week" in the memo field. Afterwards, China Construction Bank judged the memo to be related to virtual assets (cryptocurrency) and locked the account.

China Construction Bank stated, "The bank explained that this memo violated virtual asset management regulations and set the account to a 'no deposits, no withdrawals' status." The woman has applied to have the account unlocked on the condition that she submit her husband's transaction records and sign a pledge.

An official explained, "Memos related to Dogecoin can only be released if materials proving there is no association with virtual assets are submitted," adding, "bank transaction records alone cannot prove this."

Earlier, on the 5th, seven associations including the China Internet Finance Association issued a risk warning related to virtual asset trading and issued guidelines instructing member companies not to participate in related activities.
